ole boumanOle Bouman (NL)

Ole Bouman was General Director of the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi) from April 2007. Bouman holds a Doctorate in Cultural History and a Doctorate "cum laude" in Art and Archaeology from The University of Amsterdam. He has curated public events for the reconstruction of the public domain in cities that have been hit by disasters, such as Ramallah, Mexico City, Beirut and Prishtina.

His articles have been published in several periodicals, his most recent publication being “Architecture of Consequence” (2009), which constitutes the portrait of a proactive design mentality. He has curated exhibitions for the Milan Triennale, Manifesta 3 and Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum. Furthermore he has been guest editor-in-chief for A+D (India) and editorial consultant for Urban China. Currently Ole Bouman is Creative Director of the 2013 Urbanism\Architecture Bi-City Biennale Shenzhen.

Historian of architecture one of the founders of the Crimson Architectural Historians research collective, Rotterdam.”Crimson” explores the history as the potential for the future shaping, examine architecture’s changing relationship to politics, power, economics and society. “Crimson” researchers consult various governmental institutions, work with societies. W. Vanstiphout also works as Professor of Design and Politics at the Technical University of Delft, Delft since 2009, curator, author of various articles and lector.



Ewa WestermarkEwa Westermark (DK)

Ewa has been with „Gehl Architects“ since 2005 and works as a senior consultant and project manager within a wide variety of complex city development projects. Her main area of work is public life and public space strategies for international cities and urban realm framework plans and quality guidelines with focus on people first design and sustainable mobility. Ewa also has wide experience with teaching, lectures and workshops based on Jan Gehl methodology.



Andrea ColantonioDr. Andrea Colantonio (UK)

Senior Researcher at LSE Cities, London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. He is an urban geographer and an economist specializing in the investigation of complex linkages between urban growth, sustainability and the geographies of development in both developing and developed countries. He has worked on the areas of integrated urban development and institutional governance, with an emphasis on sustainability policy, planning and assessment methods in Europe. He is the main author of Transforming Urban Economies. Policy Lessons from European and Asian Cities (2013); Urban Regeneration and Social Sustainability. Best Practice from European Cities (2010) and Urban Tourism and Development in the Socialist State. Havana during the Special Period (2006).


Cilly JansenCilly Jansen (NL)

Cilly Jansen studied art history at the University of Amsterdam and did her masters in the field of architectural history. From 1987 until 1993 she was a member of the policy staff at the Foundation Visual Arts, Design and Architecture. In 1993 she founded Architectuur Lokaal and is until now managing director of the foundation. Architectuur Lokaal is the independent, not for profit national centre of expertise devoted to building culture in The Netherlands.

Cilly Jansen has established an independent access procurement portalhelpdesk and a procedural guide for procurement of architecture which is widely endorsed in The Netherlands. In a study on electronic procurement  in 2010, the EU Commission cited the portal as the most accessible one in NL. In 2013 LAS (Lithuania), RIBA (UK), RIAI (Ireland) and Architectuur Lokaal (The Netherlands) proposed the ‘Project Compass’ to the EU Union:  an international cross border collaboration for process innovation in procurement reform, based on the Dutch system.

Vlado KrajcarVladimir Krajcar (SLO)

Architect, leader of “Krajcar arhitekti”. The member of Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia, responsible for education, regulation of profession and competitions.




teele pehkTeele Pehk (EST)

Teele Pehk is the leader of the Estonian Urban Lab, competence centre of urban thought and action created in 2006. Teele has been involved with the Estonian Urban Lab since 2008 and her fields of expertise are citizen initiatives, urban experiments, and participatory planning. Over the years she has lead several networking projects between Estonian, Latvian and Finnish urbanists. Currently she is leading a big advocacy initiative of Tallinn neighbourhood associations. Teele is advising Estonian ministries and local authorities on issues of urban communities and citizen involvement.

 Ruta LeitanaiteRūta Leitanaitė (LT)

Architecture critic, publicist, writer.  Works at the Architects Association of Lithuania (AAL) as a Creative director. She is an organizer of various architectural events: architecture exhibitions, lectures, workshops, architectural competitions and curator of the official website of AAL. Collaborating in various national and international projects, Ruta contributes to architectural magazines („A10 European architecture“) and books, gives lectures.
